The program of study Information in the Digital Environment was created in response to the demand from employers for specialists in the field of web publishing, service of institutions and companies in the information sector conducting virtual activities (online bookstores, publishing houses, digital libraries, repositories), as well as for employees competent in creating databases and managing electronic content. Studies in the field of Information in the digital environment educate and develop research and professional skills extremely useful in the information society.

This course we have launched in 2018. It generally aims to prepare students for information management (searching, selecting, developing, organizing, documenting, designing, processing, etc. of information) mainly in the business sector, but not only - also wherever such competencies may be useful; in addition, students are prepared for fluency in English with a focus on Business English.

Education on the course of Information Science with Business English is aimed at:

  • to prepare students for positions related to management, as well as qualitative and substantive evaluation of various types of information;
  • to enable those wishing to work in modern libraries to acquire the necessary competence in a separate specialization;
  • to improve English language competence, with particular emphasis on Business English.
  • classes are conducted in Polish, subjects: Business English, Problems of Informatology in English, Conferences and Events Organization, Research Methodology, Scientific Texts Writing - in English.

Rules of qualification: A candidate applying for admission to the second degree program should have a degree in humanities and/or social sciences with a bachelor's, master's or engineering degree. Candidates are expected to have an interest in the processes of the information society. Profile of the graduate of the Information Science with Business English: A graduate of the second degree program in Information Science with Business English is a highly qualified specialist in the field of management, as well as qualitative and substantive evaluation of different types of information, and is characterized by knowledge of English at the B2 level with particular emphasis on Business English. He is familiar with the principles of conducting information activities in various sectors of the economy and the workshop of conducting research. He has the ability to search, collect, select, design, process, input, analyze, synthesize, document, verify and interpret information. He is also characterized by social competencies necessary for work, including interpersonal and communication skills. The knowledge, skills and competencies acquired during his studies enable him to work in the information sector (information analyst, website traffic analyst, information broker, website content manager, information and documentation management specialist, website editor, publishing editor, conference services organizer, website designer, information bureau employee).
