INTERSECTORAL SECONDMENT

As a part of the POLONEZ BIS2 research project, the PI (Dr. Taimoor Hassan) joined the External Funds Department (Bank Cooperation Team) of The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW), Warsaw for intersectoral secondment. During the intersectoral secondment, the PI learned new skills, shared his knowledge, and expertise with the NFOŚiGW team. Moreover, various proposal for investment in priority schemes and projects were targeted, prepared and finalized for investment in Poland in the vulnerable sectors to tackle climate change and expedite energy transition. To this end, investment proposal in the following sectors were prepared and reviewed together with the NFOŚiGW team and submitted to the European Investment Bank (EIB) for priority investment in Poland. 

-Energy generations from sustainable energy sources 

-Investment for decarbonization of transportation sector 

-Upgradation of energy system in rural area 

-Subsidizing purchase of zero emission vehicles 

-Energy Storage 

-Upgradation of electricity infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations

-Construction/expansion of power grids for publicly available high-power charging stations.
